Later that night, Marlin and Serilly both lay on a rock by the side of Serilly’s lake home among the forest, looking up at the moon and the stars in the night sky. “You know,” Serilly told him. “I once told Arle, that someday a prince would come to pick me up. And I wouldn’t have thought that the prince was you.” “Really? What a prediction you made,” Marlin chuckled. “I feel lucky that I’ve found the right choice,” sighed Serilly happily. “Your nice heart really appeals to me.” “You’ve got a nice heart, too,” Marlin complimented. “You’re so lucky to have friends like Arle and many others. I just can’t thank them more enough. I’m glad my sister’s giving me freedom now.” “I’m happy your sister’s changing. I hope we can see what they’ll do on me and Schezo’s birthday party.” “It’s a good first step for her,” agreed Marlin. “I’m happy for Big Sister, too. Arle, Mister Dark Prince and the others are the ones she can trust on to build relationships again, and she’s making me an

Dawn broke across the land. Marlin had been sleeping throughout the night. Eventually, he slowly opened his eyes. "He's awake. He's awake!" He could hear Serilly's voice crying. "Se… Serilly?" he asked weakly. "Marlin! I'm glad you're alright," Serilly cried, holding his hand. "Where is this? What's going on?" "Marlin, don't move around!" Amitie warned him. "Remember that you're seriously hurt!" "Wha-" As he tried turning around, he started feeling the stinging sensation again. "Arrrgh!" He cried hysterically, at the same time taking deep breaths. Arle, Ringo and Rulue held onto him. "Marlin, keep it together," calmed Arle. "The antidote's ready for you!" "What?" "Now, try not to move. Just leave the rest to us," said Ringo, as she helped Arle and Rulue to help him sit. His face clearly showed a feeling of pain and agony. Chico was ready with the antidote. She was holding it in a bowl. "Here, please drink it," Chico said as Marlin was now in a seating position, with Arle

“I see,” said Dark Prince, having listened to their story at the castle entrance. “That attack wasn’t really life-threatening to him, but rather slowly change his personality.” “Please, Dark Prince. I hope you have a solution to this,” said Nerida, holding her snoozing brother. “I doubt if I have,” Dark Prince replied. “I may have to search my entire library to find the cure, while we wait for Arly and some more to return in the meantime.” “As long as he isn’t awake, they can still come back in time with another person they need to find a cure,” said Apollo. “I’m sure Arle will find the right person to do it,” Rulue said to Dark Prince. “Let’s all just wait for her and the others to come here. I know Arle’s smart.” “I’m confident in Arle, Mister Dark Prince,” said Serilly. “If she’s got anything to save Marlin, she has.” Dark Prince looked at the entire group. “Well then,” Dark Prince said. “All of you come into the castle. Follow me and I’ll take you to where he can rest and

Since Serilly, Arle and Carbuncle’s meeting with Marlin, everything seemed to be back to normal. Other than that, everyone celebrated Ms. Accord, Popoi, Rulue and Minotauros’ birthdays altogether. Serilly attended it, and it was as grand as the birthday held for Maguro and Lidelle last month, and she enjoyed it the same. In spite of the celebrations, Serilly still remembered about Marlin. At almost every day, on her spare time, she would take her stroll on the beach, hoping for Marlin to return here. She would look around on the sand, just in case Marlin had left her a message. Strangely, however, Serilly found Suketoudara trying to be evasive of her. Each time she noticed him, Suketoudara pretended she wasn’t there, or he would just casually walk away. At night, Serilly would lay on her bed, thinking about Suketoudara’s recent antics ever since he ran off from her after returning from her meeting with Marlin. “Maybe he’s right?” Serilly thought to herself. “Oh, dear, I think I may

A few days passed. After a long while resting Marlin was finally able to swim again, although he hasn’t entirely recovered, meaning he couldn’t sprint fast. It was time for Marlin to return home. Serilly accompanied him to the beach. “Are you sure again you’re ready to return?” asked Serilly. “I am. I promise I won’t strain myself too much,” replied Marlin. “The currents should help me.” “Well, I’m wondering, will you ever come back here?” “I’ll try,” he said with determination. “Even if my sister wouldn’t let me out again, I’ll find ways to meet you.” “Aren’t you scared of getting grounded?” Serilly asked, rather concerned. “Nah, I’ll always think of an idea over and over,” Marlin assured. “Anyhow, I’ll try to meet with you again in two weeks, and right here, is that alright?” “Um, sure! Just… try not to get caught, alright?” “I won’t be. Don’t worry.” Marlin hugged Serilly. “Serilly, thank you. You’re such a kind mermaid. I hope my sister could be like you.” “I hope she

A few days later, Serilly was sitting at the cliff, looking across the sea. She remembered Maguro and Lidelle’s birthday party. It was perhaps one of the best parties she had attended. She had really enjoyed along with her friends, and was glad that no one treated her as a crybaby like she used to. Overall, she was happy one of her best friends had begun to grow along with her. But one thing was in Serilly’s mind. She was aware that some of her friends had begun dating. Arle and Schezo had gotten along despite Schezo’s continued poor antics. Dark Prince had learnt to accept the reality and he and Rulue had been dating. Amitie, Sig, Ringo and Maguro are also couples that got along naturally well. Klug and Feli’s relationship had slowly improved since their future children’s visit. Harpy’s singing had been getting better now, thanks to her meeting Apollo. Serilly had been dreaming of meeting the prince of her dreams, and seeing her friends dating one by one made her wish she met her

Serilly lay afloat on the lake, bathing herself in the morning sun. This had been her daily routine ever since opening up to Arle Nadja and her friends. Through time, she had slowly gained confidence and bravery, overcoming her fears and doubts, and she became more and more involved in her friends' adventures. Nothing had been bothering her, at least. Arle and her friends would be there, if she was ever troubled. "It's been nice," Serilly said to herself, as the birds and nearby insects sang. "I don't know, but I'm feeling so good for a long while. Hmm, what should I do later today? Perhaps I should join Arle for a new adventure? I wonder where she is…" She pondered as she shut her eyes. "Serilly? Serilly!" Suddenly, Arle's voice called. "Arle? Yes? I'm here!" Serilly got up, splashing around and startled. As she turned around, she could see Arle waiting for her at the bank. With her were Carbuncle, Amitie and Ringo Ando. "Arle, everyone, hi!" greeted Serilly. "What brings all of

“Aww, it’s so sad you have to go now,” Ringo said to them in the evening.
“Yes, I think, we’re done with our improvement here,” Regalius replied. “I guess we’re ready to return our beleaguered future, and set things right.”
“You should’ve stayed with us longer,” said Klug. “I mean, we haven’t really bonded with you enough.”
“I know, but we couldn’t stay here for long. The future is our priority now, and we want to fix it before it gets worse.”
“I get what you’re saying,” replied Arle. “But by standards, I fee

“Hmm, that’s very interesting,” remarked Accord as everyone involved explained to her.
“That’s truly bizarre, I must say, meow!” said Popoi.
“We all helped to train them,” said Arle. “We think they may be ready to return to their time to free their parents out of mind’s control, but we’re still unsure on how they should cooperate with their parents in this time to help boost their confidence.”
“I was so freaked out,” wailed Estrelia. “I thought Brother and I are really done for.”
“But we’re still here,” said Regalius. “I
